"Oh Allah, increase me in knowledge" |
Week 1 is coming to an end, and it has been challenging.
The classes were good so far, it's just the other things that was happening.
But alhamdulillah, all is good now.
Thanks to Allah. :)
For my final semester, I have only 4 major courses left to complete:
1) Undergraduate Seminar,
2) Organisational Psychology
3) Clinical Psychology
4) Psychometric Application
As I'm minoring in (general) IRK (Islamic Revealed Knowledge), I have to complete 10 IRK subjects.
I've managed to finish most of them during my first 2 years. But I've kept one subject for this final semester. So my 5th subject this semester is:
5) Methods of Dakwah.
Sengaja simpan Methods of Dakwah untuk last-last sebab rasa macam penting dan ilmunya boleh digunakan lepas grad nanti. Not to say that all other subjects I've taken during my first 3 years can't be used, but I want this one to be fresh.
And I believe I've made the right choice as well. Because dakwah actually involves psychology.
A lecturer in class said that dakwah is psychology, and I couldn't agree more. Because when we do dakwah, we dakwah to people, we introduce Islam to them and invite them to do good. These involves change in one's behaviour and in the way they think. And psychology itself is the scientific study of human behaviour and mental processes. There you go. ^_^
Rasa bersyukur sangat sebab diberi peluang untuk belajar psychology dalam UIA. It feels different and significant because here, psychology is studied from an Islamic point of view. Studying psychology here has made me and I believe my fellow comrades love Islam more. I can't think of an example to share with you right now, but when I do, I might post it either here, or on Facebook, inshaAllah. :)
Maybe I can make this a weekly update... share what I've learned in class with you on this blog.
It can be a form of revision too I guess.
I remember 2 semester ago, for my Educational Psychology class, our dear lecturer told us to write a weekly reflection on our group blog. (If you're interested, you may read it here).
That was a good technique actually. Maybe I can do it on my own, here on this very blog. Takdelah terbiar berhabuk, berkulat berbulan-bulan lagi. Plus, others may benefit from what is shared as well, inshaAllah. Kadang-kadang rasa macam tak layak je nak share apa yang belajar dalam kelas sebab tak betul-betul mahir dan faham lagi. But Rasulullah s.a.w couldn't read, and yet he conveyed the first verse of the Quran to others- "Iqra'" (read). And the sahabah were themselves newly introduced to Islam and that didn't stop them from sharing the truth with others. So what excuse do I have to give?
Tapi mesti nak istiqamah ni, inshaAllah. :)
That's all for now.
May Allah bless.
Assalaamu'alaikum.
