Of Flowers and Hearts

Bismillah.

Do you love flowers?
I know some people love looking at them.
Others love to plant and care for them.

I love looking at flowers and having them around me- whenever possible.
You see, I envy those who are able to care for fresh flowers so well in their home.
The longest I've kept fresh flowers in my room is for a little more than a week.
Even then, most of them died within the first few days.

Sad, I know.

I know there are ways to preserve them and keep them fresh longer.
But I just can't seem to get it right.
There's much more to learn before I can do it properly (to the best of my ability).

Because I don't "know" them well.
I don't understand their needs.

Because I am not an expert.
I am not the one who planted them.
And I am definitely not the one who created them.

See,
every creation thrives best in the hands of their creator.
Because the creator understand the anatomy of their creation;
knows what they need and what is best for them.

Others may learn,
others may try.
But it wouldn't be the same.

Same goes for our hearts.
It's amazing how our hearts can be both strong and fragile at the same time.

Placing our hearts in anyone (or anything) other than Allah might harm them.
Our hearts get broken, and shattered to pieces.
Our hearts might be poisoned by unnecessary feelings and desires.
Our hearts may fall sick to this worldly needs.

But trust our hearts in Allah and we'd see and feel the difference.
The tranquility, the contentment, the warmth...
We can find it only in His care.

Because Allah know our hearts.
It was He Who created them after all.
:)

Allahua'laam.
Assalaamu'alaikum.
